Yusuf Atılgan’s masterpiece novel Anayurt Oteli (Motherland Hotel), which holds cult status among Turkish readers, is adapted to the stage by Firuze Engin under the direction of Kerem Ayan and is titled Zebercet as a play for a solo performer. Zebercet is a high-spirited man from the small town whose existence is questioned even by himself... We have met him through the voice of his creator Yusuf Atılgan, and now he tells us his inner world and how he sees the world around himself.
