(...) “Deers Curse” is the last part of the Mesopotamian Trilogy. An interwoven epic, written over a long and almost painful period. The aim of this play is the desire to tell a story. This story turns into a ritual of a requiem when staged. A procession of actors enters a square, put their souls into their storytelling , then leave. In each successive telling, they grow more exhausted before leaving. Without growing accustomed, thinking that they have learned how to hide, they leave.” Staged as an Antalya State Theatre production a couple of years ago by the same director Mustafa Avkıran, “Deers Curse” comes to life in a completely new version, this time as an Ankara State Theatre production. After participating in the 11th International Istanbul Theatre Festival, the production will be guests at the Theater der Welt, Berlin 1999.
