ADANA STATE THEATRE

  • Written by: Friedrich Dürrenmatt
  • Directed by: Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu

The world-wide economic crisis, wars begun in the name of the petrol-dollar, the blind eyes turned when there is no profit to be made, the decision to remain spectators. Frank V’s director Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu says her play describes what happens when people obsessively chase after money dissearing as soon as they “succed”. In 1959, Dürrenmatt claimed that the world is a huge and meaningless confusion which will never be sorted out. The fact that forty years have passed without much changing sadly seems to prove that he was right. With this meaningful play, the Adana State Theatre takes part in the International Istanbul Theatre Festival for the first time.
