Heiner Goebbels is a German composer who endlessly searches new forms in his music and reflects an unusual harmony of action, sound and text. In “Hashirigaki” which is a Japanese word and means “to pass in a hurry”, Goebbels, as the director of the piece, is going through a new challenge with tunes, sound and words. In this visual as well as textual creation the Canadian piano player Marie Goyette, the Swedish dance-singer Charlotte Engelkes and the Japanese Koto player Yumoko Tanaka are interpreting lines from Gertrude Stein’s “The Making of Americas”. An exotic, mystic and humorous performance.
