Behiç Ak’s play examines the daily erosion of personality resulting from the comfort and technological lifestyle of economic progress forced on urban dwellers. The approach is comical and tragic, absurd and realistic, as it explores people who have forgotten the concepts of family and friendship. The play begins with a “chat” between a waiter and a man who has been “chatting” with a girlfriend on the internet for four years and is about to meet her at a restaurant on the top floor of a skyscraper. The woman he awaits is a prototype of today’s urban female, espousing as distant concepts, requiring a great deal of effort, such basic human activities as touching, speaking and dancing together.
