The Cullberg Ballet has pioneered trends in world modern dance with its work since it was founded by Birgit Cullberg in 1967. They take part in the festival with two pieces; ‘As If’, by Johan Inger and the music of Stefan Levin, questions human nature and its relationship with its environment. The second work, ‘A Sort Of’, was first staged by renowned choreographer Mats Ek for the Nederlands Dans Theatre and then included in the repertory of the Cullberg Ballet, and presents an unconventional journey in a place between reality and dream, accompanied by Henryck M. Górecki’s composition.
