Pierre Chabert, who worked with Samuel Beckett as first an actor, then as a director for over twenty years, assumes the general art directorship of the International Paris-Beckett Festival, organized this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Beckett’s birth. ‘End Game’, Beckett’s favourite among his own plays, with Genco Erkal in the leading role, is staged by Pierre Chabert, who summarizes the directing of the play with a few words by stating: ‘Plainness, energy, rhythm, humour, musicality and complete adherence to Beckett’s text’.
