In Nazım Hikmet’s poem Jokond and Si-ya-u dated 1929, Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous Jokond falls in love with Si-ya-u who has come to visit Louvre from Shanghai. When Si-ya-u is deported after being arrested during the May 1 events in Paris, Jokond escapes from Louvre to follow her love. Zeliha Berksoy brings this fantastic and political poem on stage as a one-woman play with her impressive interpretation.
