Fiancées are yet to arrive in the Kingdom of Popo. Unwilling to submit to the system, Prince Leonce has vanished. Rejecting the unison enforced by the state, his fiancée Princess Lena has fled. The young couple chance on each other between dream and reality; in a fantastic, dark site where love and death wish intermingle. This parody on power by Georg Büchner, one of the most influential figures in contemporary theatre, focuses on young people doomed to abide by decisions against their wills in the shape of social roles. Although the play appears to be a comedy of romance, its focus is on the young person’s distress, pain, contradictions, desperation, and search for a way out from automation and strings being pulled, behind its absurd mask.
