A Lulu Menase Project

  • Written by: Fred Vargas
  • Directed by: Lulu Menase

On the Abolition of Worries is a humorous dialogue between its writer and the audience. The writer claims to have solved all of his problems in human relations. In a style that is half scientific conference and half parody sketch, he touches upon issues like love, boredom, politics, economics, war and free will to solve the problems of the rest of 6,5 people. He shares his hopes, optimism and dreams. There is a third element present apart from the writer and the audience, the “Conscience”. Unlike Samuel Beckett’s never-arriving Godot, “Conscience” has arrived. Right in front of him. He faces a tough job. He seeks ways of evading it and asks the help of the audience in tricking “Conscience”.
