In their 10th anniversary, Theatre Painted Bird restages Henrik Ibsen’s play Nora: A Doll’s House in Kurdish. This feminist interpretation which has been the recipient of 2009 Ibsen Awards, challenges such dichotomies as classical and contemporary, east and west, traditional and modern. The similarities between Nurê and Norwegian Nora bring a universal dimension to the play.
