Inspired by Chekhov’s first and unfinished play Platonov and Adabashyan and Mikhalkov’s movie Unfinished Piece for Mechanical Piano, the play is also influenced by the great writer’s short stories Three Years, Peasant and My Life. Love triangles, the boundaries of fidelity and social classes, middle age crises of middle classes and their despair; finally servants and peasants who remind us that everything is possible. Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Chekhov’s birth, Piano is staged with a powerful cast including Tilbe Saran, Cüneyt Türel, Esra Bezen Bilgin and Serhat Tutumluer.
