One of Chekhov’s major plays, Uncle Vanya reflects provincial life in beginning of the 20th century Russia. Professor Serebryakov and his young and beautiful wife Yelena arrive at the family estate that the professor inherited from his deceased wife whose brother Vanya runs the estate. Stuck in country life, Vanya is desperately in love with Yelena. Nothing is going to be the same after the couple’s arrival.
