Feeling buried under a village life, Don Lisardo goes to Madrid, the city of love and adventures, with his servant, Calabazas. However, he gets involved in a great chase yet the very first night. He breaks into the chase to protect a woman whom he ever could see her face from a man seems to be the lover of the woman. He manages to save the woman and at that very moment he finds himself, as he dreamed of, in the middle of mysterious and thrilling situations. A marvellous play involves misunderstandings, shady meetings, secrets of silence, people disappearing mysteriously, lovers in grief, noble misters, and crafty servants.
