Baltic Dance Theatre is a young dance company. Proposing a modern course of action for dance performances with talented dancers from different disciplines, the company is founded by choreographer and dancer Izadora Weiss. Love, dignity, honesty and justice are prerequisite for Weiss’s works. Having staged choreographies of Jiri Kylian - one of the celebrated choreographers of Netherlands Dance Theatre - in its early years, Baltic Dance Theatre has stand out with The Rite of Spring and Romeo & Juliet performances recently. The company will perform Shakespeare’s timeless comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in the festival to set a great example of a riveting performance focuses only on music and dance without using technology. With music composed by Goran Bregovic, this is one of the must-see performances of the festival.
The project is organized as part of the 2014 cultural programme celebrating 600 years of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Poland. www.turkiye.culture.pl
