After having visited the festival last year with an adaptation of Hamlet, the Schaubühne Berlin theatre company is once again in Istanbul with An Enemy of the People, directed by world-acclaimed Thomas Ostermeier. His adaptation of Ibsen’s John Gabriel Borkman was awarded the"Grand Prix de la Critique de France" and his production of Hamlet won the "Barcelona Critics Prize." Interpreting An Enemy of the People incisively and strikingly with the collaboration of dramaturge Florian Borchmeyer and director Thomas Ostermeier, Schaubühne’s potent adaptation catapults Ibsen into a modern world of environmental and financial crises, becoming a mirror for our times. This contemporary and humorous interpretation also builds to an explosive final act in which you are invited to join the debate. An Enemy of the People will meet the festival audience for three days in a row.
