Based on Marcel Proust’s and Orhan Pamuk’s novels.
The Proust-Pamuk-Memory project focuses on the category of memory, understood as a cultural category, individual memory, recovered memory, memory understood as a culture, the culture understood as memory and eventually, memory as an element of identity and consciousness. Selected texts present for the Poles and the Turks, a chance of searching the common European experience, while emphasizing as in Museum of Innocence the cultural differences between the wider tradition of “East” and “the West”.
The project is organized as part of the 2014 cultural programme celebrating 600 years of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Poland. www.turkiye.culture.pl
