The boundless imagination of Gökhan Kızıklı, the winner of Zorlu Holding’s “One Dream, One Play” competition, is coming to stage with a text written by Serdar Saatman. Directed by Gaye Cankaya Carton City portrays the destructive dangers of uniformity and ostracizing of the other in a kid-friendly fairy tale form. All children and those who stay a kid at heart are invited to this musical conceived in the imagination of a child.

ZORLU CHILDREN’S THEATRE Zorlu Children’s Theatre was established by the Mehmet Zorlu Vakfı in 2003 with the motto of bringing theatre to all children in Turkey and giving support to the country’s arts and culture. Brought to life as a social responsibility project, the company has reached to 700,000 children all around the country through touring across Anatolia and shows in Istanbul. The company started the 2017/2018 season with Carton City and Fairground Planet and continues to infuse children with love for arts.
DIRECTOR Born in Ankara in 1966, Gaye Cankaya graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Fine Arts in 1988 where she also worked as an acting instructor between1995-98. She completed her master’s degree in theatre directing in 2000 and subsequently started working for her Ph.D. Around the same time she directed many plays and was a cast member of Izmir State Theatres. Following her move to Istanbul in 1995, she worked on TV shows in several capacities such as an actor, host and producer. Her home decorating show Home Sweet Home was one of the most popular shows on TV during its 8-year run. Çankaya has worked as a director in over 20 projects and is currently the project coordinator of Zorlu Holding Corporate Communications’ “A Dream A Play” project and producer/director of Zorlu Children’s Theatre.
