A doorway to Istanbul’s hidden worlds

Reşad Ekrem Koçu’s historical tales, spanning the Ottoman to the Republican era, come alive in a historic inn in the city centre. In Lara Lakay’s adaptation, the inn’s courtyards, corridors and balconies become carriers of the narrative, bringing daily life, entertainment culture and social dynamics of early 20th-century Istanbul vividly to life with live music.
