One of the few plays of the famous Turkish poet Nazım Hikmet who lived in exile for many years. The play brings together the legendary “Yusuf”, and an Egyptian mason, while emphasizing the wife of Yusuf, Zeliha; as a character which the legend seems to leave in shade. The dramaturgy has aimed to amplify and bring into light the significant “alienation” sections that are present in the masons chorus and the poem adaptations. This determined a musical composition that carries out both the poetic value and the theatrical function of the poems, altogether with the choreography and set design.
