Festival Plus: “Book Club with Eylül Görmüş: And the Fire Consumes Us” will take place at Fiba Salon İKSV at 20.00 on Monday, 2 November. Please visit the event page for further information and details on how to attend.

In the streets of Istanbul at night, we search for an old man who has lost his way. A radio crackles, faces blur, houses shift and time fractures.

Adapted for the stage by Müge Oskay from Murat Gülsoy’s novel of the same name, And the Fire Consumes Us follows a journey through the labyrinths of the city and memory, where familiar streets dissolve into a dreamscape. Mehmet Birkiye directs this dark journey through the night, as past and present, forgetting and remembering, “I” and “the other” change places.
