Moderated by journalist and publisher Cem Erciyes, this talk brings together Hülya Balcı, who has edited Reşad Ekrem Koçu’s works for publication; researcher and editor Serdar Soydan; and Tülin Özen, actor and creative producer of the Reşad Ekrem Koçu adaptation Sinners Behind The Lattice: Rabia Hanım, The Gunslinger’s Daughter, featured in this year’s festival programme. The conversation will explore Koçu’s relationship with Istanbul and his perspective on the city through its diverse characters, events and stories. Drawing on the experience of the Reşad Ekrem Koçu adaptations presented at the festival last year and this year, the speakers will also discuss the process of bringing Koçu’s writing to the stage.
