On a sunny Sunday in 1944 George Tabori’s 60 year-old mother of Hungarian Jewish origin leaves her house to g oto her sister to play cards as always. She gets arrested at the bus stop and is sent to Auschwitz. She miraculously survives the nightmare. The officer in charge of transferring the Jews to the death factory sets her free. With 11,5 hours delay Else Tabori reaches her sister’s place. George Tabori recounts this event in an unremarkable, ordinary and humorous manner. It is an anectode confronting the German people with their past which they nearly tend to forget. The remarkable interpretation of ZET Company reinforced with rich images, begins with a car ride in beautiful Germany of today and ends in the same- only after 49 years.
