  • Adaptation from George Michele’s “A Sunday Outing”: Rutkay Aziz

Jean Paul Sartre, a highly esteemed philosopher of the XX. century was a close friend and master of playwright Georges Michele. Sartre once said: “Someone, who does not protest the arrest of a neighbour by the police, is guilty”. A person indifferent to the problems of his society, shall not be free. Such a man’s comprehension naturally shall not push the borders beyond the cognition of “slavery” or “serfdom” and thus he shall not deserve to be the member of a civilised society. Rutkay Aziz’s adaptation, “Sunday Leissure” from George Michele’s play “A Sunday Outing”, is a slap thrown at shallow egoism, insensibility and indifference.
