Ute Lemper, who filled the Festival Theatre for two evenings in succession and each time was applauded by 3500 people at the 1994 Edinburg Festival, is our guest at the Istanbul Theatre Festival. Ms. Lemper’s international breakthrough was with the best-selling album, “Ute Lempersings Kurt Weill”. Her one-woman musical show will convey her unique blend of sensuous singing and engaging personality. With her jazzy, speech-like style we shall first listen to her Weill interpretation. In the second part she will sing her current favourites: German cabaret, Hollander, Emer, Leip/Schultze, French chansons, Piaf, Prevert. Her pianist is Bruno Fontaine, who accompanied her in the stage show, recordings and video illusions.
