We would like to pay tribute to one of the greatest authors of Turkish humour, Aziz Nesin within the scope of the Festival. “Azizname” is a production that was realised by the Dostlar Theatre in early 1970s. “Azizname 95”, on the other hand, is a performance by leading Turkish director Yücel Erten; rearranged after the works of Aziz Nesin. Yücel Erten states: “Aziz Nesin: An international humourist... An international cultural ambassador... International fighter of intellectual rights... A man to be burnt! Everything I add to this seems in vain. Rather than lamenting the death of a Pioneer, an intellectual fighter, a revolutionary like Aziz Nesin, we should all put our words into action and follow his thoughts, his struggle and line in our own pants.”
