Would you like to become a rhinoceros? - Why not? I don’t have your prejudices... “Rhinoceros” was written nearly 40 years ago by one of the pioneers of absurd theatre, Eugene Ionesco. What has changed since then? Not much. Lack of communication, alienation, burn-out , disharmony have all become a destiny and a regular state of affairs for t he modern man, and there is yet another strange phenomenon: turning into rhinoceros which happens by choice in Ionesco’s work, has become an end in itself, a reward mechanism today. The award so far is rhinoceros horn. People now wait for orders, they compete to become a rhinoceros. Everyone wants to change now, even if they end up turning into a rhinoceros. How wonderful!
