This production of the Craiova National Theatre has been staged before in cities like Tokio, Montreal, Munich, Antwerpen, Melbourne, Amsterdam, Paris and was awarded with variosu prizes. “Titus Andronicus” is a diabolical construction in a rough psycho- pathological register, spreading noxious portions of horror (streams of blood, multitudeof corpses an authentic massacre) but also of an extraordinary liberating laughter. It is a fairy- tale, in which Purcarete recreates all the atrocities of the world in grotesque game, produced with purity and in a humorous style. This play of Shakespeare will be staged in Turkey for first time.
